What is it and what it goes with:
Chardonnay - crisp, apple like flavours. Can be oaked or unoaked. Unoaked having less toasty aromas. Great with chicken and seafood dishes like cranky cakes and red riot
Gewurztraminer - pronounced Ga /werts /tra /meener - spicy, exotic, perfumy. Fresh inviting and attractively light. Great with salads like granny's nutty blue fig salad, as well as curries, spicy and like boomerang goreng and surfer's coconut curry
Riesling - fruity with delicate floral undertones. Leaning towards sweet yet clean crisp and versatile. Great with fish game, salads and Asian dishes such as, my thai pie, mussels thai-d to a coconut or the pork tenderloin with rhubarb chutney.
Pinot Grigio - light crisp and delicate with mild citrus flavours. Great with appetizers, mild fish, sandwiches and salads such as apollo's 13 salad, the osborne stack, pickerel in fresh lime sauce, or the mediterranean dip
Shiraz - rich, smooth and peppery Great with lamb, beef and game. Try it with the bison tenderloin with danish blue cheese, manitoba menage a trois or the fort garry n.y.
Merlot - dry, medium in substance plum like flavours. Great with vegatarian dishes, chicken and meats such as sesame's treat, red riot and the chili chocolate chicken skewers.
Red Zinfandel - bold, berry, spice flavours. Great with fuller flavoured fish dishes, pastas and chicken or pork. Try it with the black n' white salmon, very vegen, tazmanian tomato mussels or chili chocolate chicken.
Cabernet - medium to bold, full body, flavours described as black cherry, tobacco, oaky. Great with meats, game, garlic and pastas. A great choice with menage a trois, toadstool puffs.
